My conclusion of sailing trips

15 April 2012
This trip had definitely made me more independent and soon it was a norm to clean and cook for ourselves, not to my mum’s knowledge though! So the advice I would give is ignore the sickness! You will have an amazing time even if you are sick! I will never forget my time in Holland and Antwerp. If anybody got the same opportunity I would advise you just take it!

Day Four:

15 April 2012
Five o’clock had arrived and the alarm clock rang, we all had a quick clean and applied our sun cream, ready for the day. We went through all the bridges again which has taken ages again! Then we finally arrived at Antwerp. There was a sailing festival going on, which was an amazing experience seeing all the different sizes of boats from all over the world! We had met up with another group of sailors, to share stories on how we got there, and the things that had happened. And once again had a drink and relaxed. The next few days we spent enjoying Antwerp itself, by hiring bikes and exploring Antwerp ourselves. Even if we did look ridiculous!

Day Three: Exploring Holland

15 April 2012
We were finally in the centre of Holland. We had quickly got off the boat and went off in groups, to explore and see everything possible that we could in a short time. Everyone in Holland rode on bikes; it was an invasion of cyclists! Instead of fear of getting run over by a car, it was fear of BIKES!! We had found somewhere to get a drink, as after a hard day sunbathing we needed to relax! So all of the girls ordered a drink, but as the waiter came out with our order, she tripped and the drinks flew everywhere, we were in tears of laughter! After a much needed shower after sunbathing, the teachers said we were going to a pub for entertainment. This live entertainment didn’t turn out to be some cool punk band, but instead choir boys! We cured our boredom by playing with Cards, which I have to say I was very good at, obviously! After a few hours there it got late, and we had to be up very early for the trip back out to sea, then we would finally reach our finial destination, ANTWERP!

Day three: A new country

15 April 2012
We were up at eight o`clock it felt very weird to wake up in a different country. The sea had calmed down now as well. It was very warm outside so we had to put on the sun cream! And then it was time to plan what to do in Holland!  Everyone was awake, and getting their breakfast. A quick clean and everyone one was ready for the day ahead. But everybody still had to put sun cream on first! It took us three hours just to get where we were trying to get to, the centre of Holland! There was a new bridge every 5 minutes, which we would have to wait half an hour just for someone to come and open it for us. That didn’t bother me as now I could sit down and relax in the sun. It was so warm and relaxing sunbathing in a calm canal in Holland. It was beautiful, and I even got a tan! After a long relaxing hard journey sunbathing on the boat, we had moored up for the night.

Day two part 3: Night watch

15 April 2012
Night watch wasn’t the nicest thing as it was cold and the vision was zilch. The captain told us to put a sail up yet he changed his mind, very annoying! Whilst everyone else is asleep, we have to stay up, I was nearly falling asleep on the job but you could see the light of the city, which got me and the others excited for what tomorrow brought. After three hours we finally got to go to bed. The beds were the smallest, uncomfortably thing you could imagine! Yet once my head hit the flat pillow, I was away with the fairies.
