Vertically Challenged
Peter - Sunny Warm, Windy - Rain in the afternoon
2008/04/05, Titusville, ICW, Florida, USA

Picture is of an unfortunate boat that needed a bit more bridge clearance.

We are 32 nautical miles south of Daytona Beach. There we will prepare Event Horizon II for trucking back to Bayfield Ontario. She will continue her travels on Lake Huron.

Running the Ditch Again
Peter - Sunny Warm, Windy
2008/04/04, Banana River, ICW, Florida, USA

Picture is of birds watching as we leave the marina and enter the ICW to head North.

We traveled north on the Intra Coastal Waterway (ICW) today. Tame travel compared to the ocean and Bahamas. We have anchored in the lee of a small island on the Banana River for the night. We still need to catch up on sleep - so early to bed.

Welcome back to North America.

Since you're traelling the Intercoastal again, does this mean the two of you are bringing Event Horizon II, home to Grand Bend rather than shipping it from the United States? I gestimate that the boat traffic is fairly light this time of year.

But wouldn't there be ice when you get to the Great Lakes? The harbour mouth is clear here in Grand Bend, but I can see ice offshore.
