Bathtub still a dry fit...
06/22/2012
The majority of our bathtub would have been glued and screwed in permanently if not for a mishap due to the latest coat of epoxy not adhering. But it's not such a big deal as it was not the last coat... We going to fill the seams where the sides meet with epoxy and conclude with a white gel coat type finish. There will also be a bench seat in the aft corner. the result will be comfortable... I sat in it today and was extremely surprised at how roomy it was! Perhaps it's not destined to become a weather gear/wetsuit depot afterall... I'm thinking bubbles...
More forepeak progress
06/20/2012
The locker walls in the forpeak are no longer dry fitted, but permanently in. Port side locker houses the Anderson manual pump (which acts as a sump pump for the shower and a backup bilge pump) the rest will be storage. Starboard side locker is storage and laundry hamper. However the photo is coming up skew and no amount of fiddling will unskew it... So instead I leave you with a photo of the dry fitted water tank 'covers'. Both tanks are covered. The water tanks are in the engine room and this plywood base will allow us to attach gear to it, like filters etc.
Forpeak floor in
06/19/2012
The forpeak floor is in permanently now. There are 3 access ports into that bilge area: the black circular one accesses the custom made grey water tank for the shower, the smaller rectangular one accesses the bilge pump, and the bigger rectangular one accesses bilge. The floor is 15mm ply, coated with uv resistant epoxy. As a finish, we're thinking of putting on a layer of astroturf just kidding, rather a layer of rubberized flooring that can take the abuse of being in a shower/workshop. Yeah i think its an odd partnership too :)

Hi, I have been following your progress and it is looking good/we are very jealous and cant wait to have our plans finished and start the build. So for us a few changes(an extra child) and we decided not to go for the Bluewater 60 as we couldnt afford the build. So that being said we are nearly finished with are Northern Comfort design from Dick Zaal. If the price comes in right and looking at your build quality we will choose the Jacob brothers to build the hull and deck and finish ourselves too. Anyway good luck, I hope to drop in some time later in the year to meet Faud and discuss and would love to meet you if you are around. Ok enjoy, talk soon. Craig and Yuki
First night aboard!
06/15/2012
We've got the forward cabin floor in and, being the dorks we are, had a camp out... do I even have to say that it was pretty awesome?! Our first night aboard! OK OK I know, there was grass beneath the hull, not the salty stuff... But still we were all super stoked breathing life into this amazing future home of ours.
The Tub
05/12/2012
Here we're working on the support for our bath tub. Its no super yacht Jacuzzi but will be great as the shower base, laundry tub, wet locker, beer and ice container for a party.... think of some more ideas if you can. The kids could really use it as a bath... but for us.... its only a bath in name.
First Major interior paint
04/13/2012
Here we've recently painted what will be the inside of cabinets, it has made the cabin feel so much bigger. Annoying thing with this type of work is that its 99% preparation.
