Opua

Weather forecasts look favorable for a departure to Fiji this weekend, so we're in full-on departure-planning mode and our lazy cruising days are behind us. It's chilly here anyway, so it's time for fair-weather cruisers like us to head back to the tropics!
Here in Opua the Marina is packed full of like-minded cruisers, in fact even the mooring balls are fully booked. Equipped with a Customs Office and numerous 'yachtie' services, Bay of Islands Marina (a.k.a. Opua Marina), is a very popular place for offshore departures. Having a slip here has not only been handy, but we've run into many of our cruising buddies from previous seasons. We're keeping ourselves entertained by battling each other over games of Pictionary and Cranium
