Moving Along Through Indo

Picked up a mooring here at 1830 yesterday evening after passing through the reef entrance in low light. Never a relaxing exercise for yours truly but we had been in here before in 2011 when we were heading north to Thailand.

Hot, muggy. What else is new? Cooler evenings
Nancy and I returned to ARIANA from our home in the San Juans about 6 days ago with 280 lbs of gear and spare parts.
We are hard at it in prep and maintenance mode. Phuket is a great and I believe the best place in SEA for parts and skilled labor. Trades people are good, courteous, and the right ones have a dedicated attention to detail. Prices are significantly better than you will find in the U.S. or New Zealand and I would argue the contractors are better.
We plan to depart Thailand for west Sumatra by 20 November. After a year here, we are ready to cast-off for clear waters. Our next leg will take us down the west coast of Sumatra, then though the Sunda Strait north of Java, headed to the southeast of Sulawesi. We will then bend northeast up the east coast of Sulawesi with a destination of Palawan, Philippines.
But first a haul-out and some hot days under ARIANA. Sounds like a great movie title. Ron mak mak.
Cheers
