Ermioni then Khanitsa bay.

G. Sunny.
I have a great fondness for Ermioni - again this was a place I visited on my very first ever sailing week, and every other week I came sailing with the same RYA school we visited it again, so I think I must have been to Ermioni over a dozen times! Some boats moor in the tiny harbour, but it is moor fun to go stern to on the south quay and tie up literally three paces from a taverna which are situated all along the quay. There is room for plenty of yachts, which is good, as a charter fleet were already there, which seemed to be crewed by a very young crowd of foreigners, out for a good time. Later in the evening each boat seemed to adopt a fancy dress theme, and we saw a boatload of Spanish matadors with capes and sombreros, a boat load of people dressed as Arabs wearing burkas and turbans carrying water pistols, and another boat where the crew carried an assortment of inflatable sea creatures...... We thought we would be in for a very noisy raucous night but by midnight it was rather peaceful. Maybe they had gone elsewhere to party....
The next morning we walked across to the harbour side and had an uneventful visit to the port police office where we handed over 8 euros for mooring fees, bought a few things from the supermarket, then filled up with water. We also met a lovely English couple called Alex and Jane on their beautiful Moody, called Granny's Wake. We shared experiences of ports visited and hoped we would bump into them again.
We left around 330pm after a short siesta and headed to a little anchorage called Kanitsa, or Hanitsa Bay. We anchored here last year late September and had the whole bay to ourselves, but this month the Greeks are on holiday and the world and his wife appear to be here on small day boats, RIBs, yachts and even some big gin palaces. All bought with their money they should be using to pay their taxes, no doubt!
Later, we are meeting up with Mark and Amanda Blomley, a couple we have in fact never met face to face, they originally saw this blog a year ago and we have been communicating by email or Facebook ever since. They are currently in nearby Koilhada, so we are looking forward to meeting them for the first time this evening!
