Seasons greetings

23 December 2014
Time to leave Grenada after spending a week or two in Clarke's court bay and having treated ourselves to some Chelsea buns and pasties from the Merry Baker and added to the baked bean stock. We set sail for Martinique and a fabulous sail we had up the islands. Off the north of Grenada we were entertained with three whales gracefully swimming by, I believe they were pilot whales. The dolphins came to play in the night off the north coast of St Vincent and again in daylight at the south end of St Lucia. The winds were light 10 to 15 knots and the seas as flat as the Caribbean gets so it was a lovely smooth passage all the way.

We anchored off of St Anne's which is a beautiful spot with hundreds of other yachts, it is always bust at this time of year, life is made easier now as there is a cafe that does the customs and immigration form on a computer so no need to head into Le Marin until the fridge needs a resupply. One Sunday the local boats had a couple of races from the beach and a pretty sight they made, towards the end they sailed among the anchored boats so we could all get a close up view.

We plan to stay here for the festive season and then carry on our northerly direction to Guadeloupe and Antigua and island we have not visited for a while. Andy and I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
