Arrived in Pago Pago 1300 hrs. 5104nm travelled so far from Marina del Rey. Spent the better part of the afternoon clearing customs, immigration, and health, and we even cleared with officials who we seemed to have no need to clear with! "fill out this form, now the blue one, now the pink one.." A wharf built for container ships made it difficult for officials to board, so they smiled at us from shore, and kept trying to pair everyone up, not willing to understand that we had three solo travellers. Three men and only two women aboard?! Why that's positively scandalous! Steaks, seafood platters and seafood marianas were enjoyed for dinner. Such delight did we express to have real bread that the restaurant even gave us their left-over dinner rolls!
