Steve
Well, we're sitting here in Big Majors enjoying paradise, but there are always a few "jobs" to do on the boat. We changed the oil and filters. We put in a new transmission this past year and the linkage that throws the lever to put it in gear needed adjustment. It is a two person job and you'd think that since we are two people, we could do it. That phrase, "Two person job" assumes that one of them actually knows how to do it. Ah ha, that's where Bill enters the picture. You see, he's a professional regarding these things. So now we have three people...two dumb and one smart. That's how we do a two person job on Fine Lion. I'm sure you are wondering about the picture. That is Kim learning how to put the boat in gear in case the linkage failed. I was surprised with the technique since I didn't see it in the shop manual for a Yanmar diesel engine. I think there was some improvising.

Then in the afternoon we went in to the Staniel Cay Yacht Club to have lunch and watch the Panthers Dolphins game. It was like old home week in there for me. The whole gang (of locals) was there: Breadboy (Ray), Carl (the best bartender in the whole country), Dave, Brooks (the Bahamian National Champion for Class A Sloops for several years), Bushman (Barry), Chicken 'N Fries (Rock), and others. It was a very cool feeling for me to have all these guys come over and welcome us back to the Bahamas and do the "bro hug" that the Bahamian men use for true friends. It was actually a little emotional for me...it was really fun. And as usual, we made some new friends while we were there. We also renewed our zest for cracked Conch...love it!

We renewed old friendships, had a great lunch, good drinks, massive amount of fun, and my Panthers won. Unfortunately, Kim's Broncos lost. We were back on the boat and listened on Sirius/XM. We had so much fun for the day that the Broncos' loss wasn't that devastating...the fun we had overshadowed the game.

More later...
