Swansborro

Cloudy, 65F, wins NE 15-20
We were sad to depart from Oriental 😕. It's such a nice town and it's always great to visit the Crowley's. Cheryl's gumbo was delicious and it's always nice to get your laundry done. West Marine even replaced my broken Dr LED spot light with a new one at no charge. We departed for Swansborro at 9:30, it's about 42 miles to the SW. Gerry and Cheryl even drove to the inlet to say farewell on the VHF. The wind was 15-20 from the NE so we were able to sail down wind and on a reach with the jib. The current was with us till we past Beaufort, NC and was against us for a couple of hours as we went SSW. Current changes made a difference between 9 knots SOG and 5 knots SOG. We saw lots of Dolphins around the boat. Every time Kathi would spot one she would yell "DOLPFIN" just as I was about to take a nap, it would scare me and I would jump up thinking we were about to hit something or run aground. I got use to it after we tied up at Casper's Marina for the night. We arrived at 16:00. Swansborro is a small quaint little town. It has shops and some nice restaurants. We walked around to get some exercise, and partook in a nice dinner at a small seafood place. We then closed the evening watching Dancing with the Stars and Monday night football on TV.
