Harbor Village Marina
27 October 2015 | Harbor Village Marina, close to Wilmington NC
Cloudy, rainy, 65F, Wind from NE 10-15K
We had a nice breakfast in Swansboro, topped of the diesel and departed for Wrightsville Beach. The weather left a lot to be desired, cloudy, rainy and windy 10-15K. At Least the wind was to our backs NE. We were held up quite a bit at the Onslow Bridge as they were doing maintenance. It seemed like the maintenance crew was doing more fishing off the bridge than doing maintenance. We had to wait 1 hour against the current. The tide was so high that the low tide was at the level of the high tide. We just squeaked under the Surf City Bridge, which read 64 feet vertical. Our VHF antenna hit the bridge but survived. we ran out of time in the wind and the rain and pulled into the Harbor Village Marina. It is super nice and well protected. We may have to wait out the weather here tomorrow if it turns worst. Our next port will be southport. We saw some dolphins but not as much as yesterday. the wifi worked well at the Marina and we watched the news and Andy Griffith show. What could be more exciting.
