60s at night 70's during the day, clear and windy
Jan 30 - Feb 11
We have been in Key West now for 3 weeks now and blending in like natives. Our mornings include long walks and/or bike rides around the Island. The weather has been phenomenal 60's at night and 70's during the day, which match's our goal of following the 70° temperature curve around the globe. We have been at Stock Island Marina the entire time and have found it friendly and a great location out of the day to today hustle and bushel., although it does not have a swimming pool. However one is under construction. It's a little pricy for our tastes and we are paying a catamaran up tic. Finisterre is comfortable here and well protected. Our journey to the Dry Tortugous has been delayed due to the winter cold fronts that come thrown a weekly basis (lots of wind and big seas). We went out for a day sail and everything checked out on the boat although I still have chronic problems with the code zero roller furling. We found an awesome sea food shop called Seafood Busters. The conch ceviche is awesome. We have also played golf several times and Kathi sunk a 40 foot putt. We have explored in the dinky but haven't found a pristine spot yet, we will continue to look for one. We have meet some great people in the marina. We traveled back to Maryland for 3 weeks to take care of stuff and plan to be back to the boat on 3/7 to continue our planning and journey to Cuba then back north again for the summer. I am now putting more pictures in the gallery.
