Boca Raton

14 January 2018 | Boca Raton
Windy and Cold
We had a nice sail down to Boca. The wind was about 22K on the stern. We past Maro Laggo which is Trumps PB house. We had a nice escort on that part of the ICW by the Coast Guard. We made it to Boca about 2P after navigated numerous bridges. We were able to hook up with a colleague from the UK Tom Olson and his wife Sandy and daughter Sophie. We had a great time On the boat anchored in the Boca Anchorage. The weather is still unseasonably cold and the north wind just won't quit. The Eagles won yesterday and also the Patriots. Today the Jacksonville Jaguars beat Steelers and the Vikings beat the Saints. Both games were very close.

13 January 2018 | NPBM
Clear and cold.
We spent several days at North Palm Beach Marina. We were able to go out to dinner with John and Barbara Sheet, who we hadn't seen since last year. We had a good time catchin up. While at NPBM we went to the NPB community pool which was nice and did lots of hiking. Kathi got her burger craving satisfied at Duffy,s . We departed on Sunday Morning for Boca Raton with the hope off getting some warmer and less windy weather.

Sunset Bay Marina

11 January 2018 | north Palm Beach
Windy and rainy and cold
Was able to stay at a slip at Sunset Bay. We visited George Vanderheyden at his new house in Stuart. It 2s great catchin up with George and his house was awesome. Next day Bob and Trish came up to Stuart and we departed Stuart and sailed down to North Palm Beach Marina. We had a great time going down the ICW. We arrived in NPB around 4P.

07 January 2018 | Stuart
Cloudy, occasional showers and cold.
We spent a couple of more days at the Fort Pierce city marina sheltered from the bad weather and taking in some local amusements like the Navy Seal Museum and a show at the Sunrise theater. We met a nice cup,e (Dean and Danelia) on the slip across from us. they have the exact same boat. We returned the rental car and took in the Saturday market. We also went to the local mission church for mass. We departed at slack tide on Sunday Am. We had brisk winds from the east and made our way south with a reefed jib. the engines seemed to perform well and we pulled into Sunset Bay Marina in Stuart about 13:00. we met up with Noreen and her husband Mark. We hadn't seen Noreen for about 30 years. It was nice to catch up on things and it was nice meeting her husband. We ended the day with a walk into Stuart, free pizza at the Marina and a free movie (Dunkirk) at the marina.

Happy New Year

02 January 2018 | Fort Pierce City Marina
Cold windy and rainy
We made it back to Fort Pierce late on the 29th. The boat was good.On Saturday I dove overboard to check the GORI propellers. I made sure that they were moving freely. I suspect that the starboard engine (Ricky) was stuck in overdrive which means the engine would not reach its rated 3600 RPM and was running harder and hotter that the port engine. On our next leg I'll see if that was the problem or not when I put the engines under load. Both oil samples came back with normal results which is good. We decided to go to the Citrus bowl and root for ND. We used our Marriott points for a hotel in Orlando. We brought in the new year with fireworks and the Citrus bowl. The weather was horiable. As it turned out I got the flu on New Years and had to leave the game early. It was an awesome game. We made it back to Fort Pierce today. Weather was the coldest in decades. 30Knots from the east and near freeing temperatures at night.

The Holidays

08 December 2017 | Fort Pierce
Cold and windy
We made it from Daytona to Coco Beach and anchored out. The next day we made it to Vero Beach. We decided to only stay one night because of bad weather coming in. We made it with no problems from Vero to Fort Pierce. We are staying at the city Marina until Jan 8th. We rented a car and drove back to Daytona to pick up our car. All was fine and it's great having a car while we are in the Marina. We buttoned up the boat and headed north for the Holidays.
