It's Christmas and here we still are in the DR! The parts for the motor arrived in Santo Domingo finally yesterday and are supposed to be here by Friday. Hopefully all will go well with Ruby (motor) and we will have a good travel day next Tuesday or Wednesday.
I "baked" some pumpkin pies in a skillet. Surprisingly after spending a ridiculous $60 for a taxi trip to town, the store didn't have anything for an "American" Christmas other than turkeys! I had the pumpkin from before we left Florida, some eggnog I had found in Puerto Plata, chicken and potatoes will have to do.
I thought the restaurant would have a Christmas dinner, but no. They are having a New Year's Eve dinner at only $90 per person!!! They seem to think that everyone who comes in here is mega rich, so all the "civilization" is almost out of reach anyway for us cruisers on a budget. At least we can use the pools and beaches which are really beautiful:)
