Passarelle MK2 with fancy teak !!
We caught up with our friends Peter & Banu who are moored at the Bozborun Yacht Club which is more a resort than a yacht club. Peter is employed to do boat repairs for the numerous yachts that belong to the young owner of the resort. A workshop has been established with sea views and fresh breezes and it is here that Bern is going to repair our passarelle (boarding platform) and line it with teak. Last summer the fibreglass surface was overheated by the intense sunshine, causing it to soften and bubble, reducing its strength. A teak overlay appears to be the answer. So Bern spends the week working away and quickly learning how to lay teak strips. Bozborun is a pretty little village with a weekly fruit & vegetable market, as well as the usual village shops where you can get all you need for provisioning. It is situated at the head of a protected bay surrounded by steep mountan ranges, so a pleasant place to hang off a mooring for the week. Bern's project is eventually completed and we now have an even smarter looking passarelle hanging on the back of First Light III!
