At the top of a huge mountain overlooking the bay of Kotorr
Shortly after arriving in Montenegro, Jon left us to explore the surrounding countryside and try to do some work work!
We spent a few days exploring the city of Kotor before Di departed to return back to Australia and care for her father.
I was on my own for a week or so and focused on the never ending list of jobs. I did however make time to get out on the bike and made a couple of trips to a town about 15Km away to fill gas bottles. I also set out early one morning to see if there was a road to the top of the huge mountain behind Kotor. I had seen what looked like flashes of car headlights high up on the mountain, so figured there must be some sort of road up there. Sure enough there was a very good road that zig zagged 20 switchbacks and about 20km all the way to the top. It took over two hours to climb, but I was rewarded at nearly every turn with the most spectacular views. Fortunately there was a restaurant right at the top and I refuelled with coffee and pancakes.
