Rain, rain, go away...

10 December 2010 | Isla Pinos, Panama
Ralph
After a day of no rain, it started again this morning and has rained all day. So we have just been lounging around on Five Islands for the whole day. We had happy hour on Five Islands yesterday evening which ended up lasting to almost midnight, so Laying around today has been kind of nice. It seems like Panama is getting a real dousing of rain and is causing some huge problems. We heard from a friend that Isla Grande had 34 inches of rain over a couple of days. There is mass flooding through out Panama and a lot of roads are closed and houses flooded.

We went for a short hike on the island yesterday with David and he showed us where the tree was cut down for his ulu. The tree had these huge thorns on them that are very sharp and hard - I think it was some kind of pine tree. The Kuna's continue to be very friendly here - much more so than the islands that we first visited. When the rain finally breaks, I think we will start working our way up the island chain, so that we can meet up with our friends on Better Days in a week or two.
