Haulout Day 4
29 October 2011 | Spice Island Marine Services, Grenada

This morning was flatout depressing. In preparation for applying the first coat of bottom paint we rinsed and scrubbed the bottom to remove all loose sanding dust and any other contamination. While doing this we uncovered many more bad paint areas and when they were attacked with a putty knife, several of them became significantly larger. So out came the sander and all the protective gear to prep the new areas. While got going on that job Pam walked to Budget Marine to buy some more brushes for primer application. Our hope was to get all the new spots prepped and primed with two coats today so we start bottom painting tomorrow. I sure am grateful for Pam, she doesn't enjoy this dirty work but hangs in there and holds up her end. I couldn't be more proud of her.
