One of the upgrades made to the boat recently was a killer Wifi extender. I can reach hotspots miles away to get weather updates, as doing here in our recent trip to Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. Something tells me I'll be spending alot of time in that seat.

And a nice pic to go along with the one below for those who wanted to see how Megan and Alyssa have aged (gracefully!)

Had to post this pic of Megan and Alyssa taken at Pueblo Rooftop's farewell (for me) concert. Made me chuckle....

One of our goals this trip was to get helm experience for the crew that will be joining us on longer trips. Josie took basic keelboat on the bay in March and fearlessly took the helm on the ocean.

This race was going on in Redwood Creek Thursday Night. We dragged our anchor from the northeast shore right into the middle of the race, and finally abandoned it for the comfort of line tied to an old pier. Every boat would round the mark and then turtle the boat. Great spectator sport!

Friday morning we left for central bay, with plans for a sail around the bay and a comfortable anchorage out somewhere. We got luck and landed a spot at Angel Island where our mooring technique was much improved over last time. Fellow cruisers in their dinks made it much easier. That's Rina in the cockpit taking pictures of the approaching dinghy.

06/06/2008, RWC to Santa Cruz to Half Moon Bay to RWC
The crew of Follow You Follow Me left Redwood City on a furious Thursday night, with winds blowing to 35 knots *in* redwood Creek. We decided to anchor out in the creek rather than brave the flood tide and winds on the nose to San Francisco. Check out the chop in the "no wake zone" at the Sequoia Yacht Club!

You hear it over and over... There is never enough space on a boat. We are constantly amazed at the creative ways cruisers make space for stuff on their boats. On Follow you, Hunter saw fit to not provide any decent place for full size books. While there is a bookshelf in the forepeak above our bunk, it doesn't easily deal with full size books like Chart #1, Nigel Calders World Cruising Routes and boat documentation.
In a spurt of creative energy one night this week, I decided to reconfigure the shelves underneath the navstation desk to accept full size binders and books. Unfortunately I didnt take a before picture but it basically was 3 compartments, only one of which would accept full size books and it was only 5 inches wide. I got out the trusty jigsaw and cut out the dividers, creating one big shelf and re-purposed the shelf fiddle to keep the books in place in heavy seas.
Now my trusty manuals are close at hand...

After a long winter of boat projects and mundane distractions, Rina and I finally get some quality time in the central bay during Opening Day on the Bay. Spent the night at aquatic park at the foot of Ghirardelli Square, great weather, and dinner with Steve and Sherri, who got a ride in the dink from the beach to the boat.
Great sailing out to mile rock and then down hill all the way to the waterfront where we watched the parade of boats from Crissy Field to Pier 39. Lunch in McCovey cove watching the giants crowd and the parade of boats in and out of the cove. We then turned towards home, with a brisk sail to RWC, including some 10.5 knot bursts due to the 30 knot gusts coming off San Bruno mountain. By the time we passed the San Mateo bridge, we were running wing on wing in 22 knots of breeze... a great way to start the season

Agreed, this season of fun has just begun. Awaiting the Sail!
