Allan and Rina's 2008-10 Sailing Adventure
The travels of S/V Follow You Follow Me in Mexico and the South Pacific
I did it!
Allan
07/18/2008, Sutter Creek

Big step.... let work know that Rina and I are going sailing to Mexico for a year. CEO was very amenable, giving me a leave of absence for the period. Even discussed the possibility of doing small projects for the company... that would be cool, and the holy grail of the cruising life.... work via the satellite phone and wifi while living on the boat....

Now that the cats out of the bag, Rina and i will discuss itineraries and other stuff that we couldnt before...

I want to be more like this..... RELAXED and on the boat.... and less like.....

Another door/wall solution
Rina
07/08/2008

This wall bag is attached to our access door to our generator in our aft guest cabin. This can be used for extra lines, and/or guest items, or guests magazines.

This bag holds, gloves, teathers, head flashlights, and at the bottom...it holds jacklines when not in use. As a friend called them "Rina's Racks" ha ha.

Here's one of my creations for wall space, this one is for holding crew members sunglasses. As you see, if not crew it doubles for had & depth sounder holder.

4th of July Anchorage
Rina
07/05/2008, Angel Island, Ayala Cove

Here's a peek of our boat through the trees from the top of the trail on Angel Island above Ayala Cove...Beautiful! It was one of the places on the San Francisco Bay over the weekend, July 3rd - 5th, that didn't get fogged in. Great walks, picnicked on the trail from one of the old forts...Some family joined us from Volcano and Eureka for the weekend. Much fun was had. Great Sail on the 5th over to Pier 40 and all the way down to south bay, Redwood City.

Here's Allan & daughter Alyssa breaking in our new toys! These inflatable kayaks that are incredibly packable in their own cases to store nicely on the boat. Very fun to use.

Weather forecasting made easy
Allan
06/23/2008, Half Moon Bay

One of the upgrades made to the boat recently was a killer Wifi extender. I can reach hotspots miles away to get weather updates, as doing here in our recent trip to Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. Something tells me I'll be spending alot of time in that seat.

Josie at the Helm
06/06/2008

One of our goals this trip was to get helm experience for the crew that will be joining us on longer trips. Josie took basic keelboat on the bay in March and fearlessly took the helm on the ocean.
