More Lechuga and New Friends

We have been in Puerto Williams for a day or two and have restocked the larder after the supply ship arrived. Once again fresh produce never looked so good. I am amazed at how we marvel at an avocado or tomato that aren't bruised or overripe. Thierry told us that the best and really the only restaurant in town is at the Hostal Pusaki. I spot it right across the street from the supermercado. I go in and meet Patty, the owner. I make a reservation for the next night. After a lovely meal, crab salad and beef stew and ice cream, the lechuga delivery man shows up with the biggest head of lettuce that we have ever seen. I jump up and ask Patty where I can buy something like this and she turns to the guy and runs off in some very fast Spanish. The next thing I know, I am the proud owner of this black garbage bag full of leaf lettuce at a very reasonable price. Patty and I are amigas. She also has the cutest French Mastiff puppy who seems to like Ned's lap. Maybe it is the scraps that he is getting.
