06/21/2012, Stoke Charity
Had a lovely day out up at the farm at Stoke Charity a small village not too many miles away from Winchester. Beautiful farmland stretching out in the sunshine. Met up with Bill and Margaret at their daughter Nicola's farm. Whiz and Candy were with us for a break too. N is heavily involved with horses and keeps 7-8 while husband Nick farms wheat and does a lot with eco-farming etc. Beautiful house and surroundings covering about 1000 acres which is quite big for the UK! We were able to enjoy a lovely picnic in the garden and then went for a long walk enjoying the scenes. Have posted photos of Nicola with horse and pony, which was being exercised ready for eventing over the weekend, and a couple of the gardens and views. It was wonderful to be in some warm sunshine and having a complete change from the boat! xx

06/17/2012, Solent
After another front past us by, we got out onto the Solent today, 2 reefs down in a blustery wind. I was a happy chick as a result, as we were comfortable and not fighting the conditions too much! Watched some hectic racing going on with the young chaps who are soooo enthusiastic and take it equally seriously. posting a couple of photos for interest. Headlines over the weekend was Summer cancelled till September lets hope that isn't the case!!! Had a great supper at The Jolly with Clare and William on Friday night was good to see them and catch up. Mellos II is back, but poorly with something split allowing water in...... not so good! Be in touch again soon. cheers for now. xx

Just posting this photo for fun. Berthing at this bril yard is the fact that it is a working boatyard, and definitely not a marina!! Boats get moved all over the place, and if you are away for too long, coming back to where you thought you left your boat has it's challenges! Not only that, the regular's get snugged in somewhere and then need to go out for a sail so there is another shuffle about....... it's great we all get involved!! The rather lovely racing classic that is being moved back alongside has just come out of a 30 month refit and is hoping to get away for the Antigua Classic week.
