We started sailing 27 years ago on a 17' boat in Chicago. Once we found out small boats and big lakes don't mix we quickly upgraded to a 30' then progressed through 34, 38 and our most recent acquisition is a 42. All of our boats are a French brand called Beneteau, hence the name of our 42 - French Connection.
So far, we've sailed in the Great Lakes: Michigan, Huron and Erie, Florida, Virgin Islands and St. Maarten.
Racing is also part of our sailing experience, although less today than it has been in the past.
Next steps for us are a combination of more expanded Caribbean and Great Lakes sailing as well as a higher level of proficiency through the Coast Guard license.
