Thank you Pat....your first comment and it is to chastise me for being late in post....keep it up, as I need a push. Christmas was another pleasant feast at the Sands Hotel. I got to Skype with my sweet granddaughter which put the cheerfulness into my Christmas. I've just been hanging around Colimilla/Barra waiting for school to resume so I can have a skype chat session with Gabriellas' class and the school here in Colimilla. To break up the wait, I invited Yoana and her mom and dad(Enrique/Maria) and a friend of Yoanas (Griselda) out for a day sail to Tenacatita. This was the day after torrential rains and high winds plummeted the area. So on the way over to Tenacatita the seas were a little too lumpy and Yoana and her friend got a light case of Mal de Mar. But it didn't go as far as feeding the fish. Once we got around the corner and into the large bay it settled down and a whale greeted us. You should've heard the screams when the whale was spotted. We motor sailed into the beautiful anchorage of Tenacatita and dropped the hook. As I was taking sandwich orders, the adults wanted pastrami on seven seed bread and the two girls wanted peanut butter and jelly. Pastrami is a hard to get item down here in mananaland and so is GOOD chunky style peanut butter. Then we all jumped in the dinghy and made a little wet beach landing. We walked around the area which is where they made the movie McHales Navy and Yoana and Griselda went swimming. As we left the beach with the adults in the Dink we pulled out a ways from the beach and picked up the girls. You have to be here to appreciate the laughter that ensued when trying to pull the two girls aboard. Somebody mentioned baby whales...I don't know who? Once aboard Mannasea we had a nice treat in Cantaloupe halves filled with strwberry ice cream and topped with blueberries and blackberries. Then we weighed anchor and headed back to the Barra lagoon. The seas really mellowed out and it was a nice ride back. As we were about to enter the lagoon a small group of dolphins crossed our bow. If we were to spot a sea turtle, that would really have capped off the day.
