Gabriellas grandpa
I left La Cruz and motored out to Punta Mita, the northern tip of Banderas Bay. I haved passed this anchorage many times and never stopped because of the windy look and the openess of the anchorage. I kinda enjoyed the overnight stop with a little visit to the expensive condo and high end resort area. I also cleaned the bottom of my boat in 69 degree water....BBBRRRRRRRRR. I left the next morning for Jeltamba or Rincon Guayabitos whichever look good to me for anchoring. As I passed both of these places I decided to go straight for Chacala. I met up with old friends in Chacala...Hooligan and Niki Wiki. We had a beach/palapa get together yeaterday and it was quite enjoyable to sit around and chat about everything except religion and politics. I'm breaking down my resistance to socialize and its ok. I will leave here and go to San Blas for a few days then out to visit the Blue-Footed boobies at Isla Isabella. Some sad news for the second time while down here in Paradise. Jim Forquer, owner of a beautiful 52' Catana catamaran fell while going back to his boat and must have hit his head. They found him dead in the water at the marina in Barra De Navidad the next morning. He was 56 years old and from Newport Beach. I met him in Zihuatanejo while he organized the races and emailed him pics I took of his boat that I took while he was racing in Banderas bay. 2 months earlier, a 78 year old man that I met in Mazatlan was foound dead in or around his boat that went aground in the Huatulco area as he was heading south to the Panama canal and eventually on to Ireland. Trust me, I enjoy and count my blessings each and everyday. Sorry to put a sad note in the blog but I have to tell somebody so I feel a little better.
