Merry Christmas/Happy New Year

All my crying and complaining in the previous blogs is slowly turning to happy days and jubilation. I now have the topcoat(linear polyurethane) all done and the boot stripe painted. I applied the name and the new port of record and installed the first two out of fourteen new plexi windows. The basic paint job on the hulls is not an expert job but, I can live with protection and the basic strength of a two part linear polyurethane. It is so weird to see clearly out the new windows....the last couple of years I had to polish them to get the haze out so I could make some semblance of what was outside. If everything goes OK I should be in the water by Thursday the 2nd.
I had Christmas dinner at Evie's in San Carlos with Joe and Carol, David and Nancy, and George from Mollyhawk fame. The traditional turkey dinner was great and it was nice to share Christmas dinner with good friends. I have been to two boat gatherings where we snack and chat(which is unusual for me since I normally decline) before Christmas and they were also enjoyable. Today I went over to San Carlos to help Joe(my ex) unload some stuff from his boat and take it to his nice class A RV. His wife Carol made us 'lunch'...consisting of delicious ribeye steak, potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob, and rolls. They wanted to show their thanks for helping them but I'm the one that is really thankful because he is the one letting me 'use' his nice Honda 2000 generator for the season. I'm going over tomorrow to watch the 49er game and then again on Wednesday to watch the Rose Bowl....GO STANFORD!!!!! I will try to download some pics of the boat and let me know if you can see the color difference in the hulls! Thanks Pat for the wonderful email describing Gabriellas doings. I think only us grandparents can satisfactorily put in writing the real things that matter!
