I spent the longest time in a while at La Cruz anchorage. Some of the stay there is quite annoying....$40 pesos a day to tie up at the dinghy dock and we don't have ANY privileges other than tying the dinghy to a dock. Normally when you pay a marina to tie up the dinghy, they include free water, showers and use of other amenities. The anchorage itself is a mini Tehuanapec(google it) because it blows hard everyday and the boat gets tossed around. On top of all that, there is the high prices for everything that a big tourist city has to offer. Am I crying enough? We left La Cruz for an overnight stay at Punta Mita...which is a high end resort area where a lot of famous people(including me) go. Weighed anchor the next morning and motorsailed to Chacala. The blog post photo is of Mannasea sitting out front of palapas on the beach. Enjoyed the food, beach, and surrounding area and the start of Semana Santa. After 3 days there we motorsailed over to Mantanchen bay which sits beside San Blas to anchor for the night. Then the next morning we did an overnighter to Mazatlan. I put Mannasea in a marina slip for the first time since January and it felt strange. Washed the boat down and did laundry and jerry jugged fuel to the boat. I got the Yanmar mechanic to service my diesel(lifter adjustment and head retorgued) while I jumped the bus to go to Mega (super market) for shopping and getting pesos to pay off the mechanic. Then the bus trip back to Fonatur marina was through hotel row and the beaches. The middle of Semana Santa and the the place was packed with more hot, cute, gorgeous chicas. I thought my eyes were going to bleed. Anyway, back to the boat and get things ready for an overnighter to La Paz. The weather called for light south to southwesters and then no wind. Iturned out to be more westerly(which is the direction I'm heading) and up to 15 knots. Then later in the night the wind changed directions and came out of the north with the resulting square seas. I was an unhappy camper with the boat bouncing all night long. I don't trust any of the weather sites I visit online. Sitting here in beautiful La Paz which is one of my favorite big town anchorages.
I'm ready to call it quits on this blog thing. I know of 3 people who read this regularly and one of them faithfully leaves comments. So I have this nagging feeling that it is an audience of three which makes me think the effort is lost on trying to inform a lot more people/friends. If the lack of comments/questions continues, this might be my last season blogging about my adventures in Mexico.......just saying!
