A nice all day cruise from NB to Mission Bay where I purchased Mannasea in 1984. It was nice to drop the hook in Mariners cove as I have done so many times in the past. I wanted to stay here for a few days so I could avoid the Baja Ha Ha crowd in San Diego bay. I left for San Diego Bay on the morning of the departure of the Ha Ha group. What a sight! Over 150 boats gathering in the Coronado roadstead getting ready for their 700 mile trip heading south. I was sailing into the bay threading my way through the crowd. I made my way to the police dock where there was no problem getting a transient slip. My good friends Drew and Susan loaned me their car for the entire time I was there. What a pleasure and convenience it was having that car for all the last minute errands. Thanks again Friends. I'll spend about one week here to let the Ha Ha crowd get way south then I'm outa here for Ensenada.

The Beginning

I left the SF Bay at noon on the 22 of Oct. It was an uneventful overnight trip to Morro Bay. I spent the night in Morro Bay and left for Santa Barbara in the morning while there was a good weather window to work with. Arrived in Santa Barbara at 1am and slept quite nicely at a transient dock. I pulled out that morning for Marina Del Rey and spent 2 days there before departing for Avalon on Catalina Island.
