Awaiting final guests
19 April 2014
Our final week of our winter refuge we will be enjoying with 2 of our newphews aboard - Emery & Jonathan. Prior to each of other guests arrivals we were able to wash the boat down on the outside but this go around we only had some rain to wash off the salt so I decided it was time to polish the stainless. Only the 2nd time this season. After the multiply times first season I realized it was overated and overkill.hahha
Anyways, thinking it would be great fun to have ol'Kyl-ton help out. He is not much help being paper and all but I had a great day in the sun listening to kids frolic in the water and playing on the beach. Caneel Bay has about 4 blue mooring balls for the day trippers (otherwise known as Cattlemarans) and SV New Horizons picked up to the ball next to us and let off about 25 snorkelers. There was one young man that soon spotted a turtle, yelled for others but no one came. He spent the next 30+ minutes following the turtle which brought him towards his boat. He was right along side ours when the turtle broke the water for air. The boy and turtle were an arms reach away and the boy was purely excited. Might sound corny but I was thrilled for him. Such an awesome experience that some take for granted when they swim about. May he always remember his encounter and may Emery & Jonathan get to experience as much this week.
