Fresh shrimp for dinner!
05 November 2012 | Calabash Creek, NC no SC
sunny 60's
Bill made it into the anchorage last night just after I posted my blog...about 5:30p. Today, after transiting the Cape Fear River and entering back into the ICW, his engine failed yet again, so he was towed to a marina where he could get the problem repaired. We and Flyer continued on to Calabash Creek.
Today was a beautiful day on the waterway. Warm, sunny, lots of water (under the keel) and only a few fixed bridges...no opening bridges to be timed. Flyer hit his mast yet again...there's nothing left on the top. Gone is his anchor light, anemometer, and windex. THe next thing he takes out is the mast itself!
We are anchored in Calabash Creek just over the line in SOUTH Carolina. We put the dinghy in the water when we arrived (about 2:30p), picked up Freddie and went up the creek to town to buy fresh shrimp off the docks. The town is actually in North Carolina, so we are in SC by the skin of our teeth! I bought a bunch of shrimp...had some for dinner and froze the rest.
The weather forecast for today was rainy and cold...but I was down to bare feet and a tank top (inside our 'greenhouse'). We never got a drop of rain, and the sun shined all day! Possible rain tomorrow, but we'll see. We'll be heading down the Wacamaw River tomorrow...that's spelled D.E.L.I.V.E.R.A.N.C.E!
