Still Playing in the Keys

Since leaving Key West, we have been having a lovely time just wandering around the Keys. The weather in the Keys is, in my opinion, nearly perfect with temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s always with a breeze that keeps it comfortable. Depending on what the winds are doing, we seek out a spot [...]

Living Your Dreams

Greetings Everyone,

This Key Fits

Greeting everyone! We escaped from Key West three days ago after a stay of almost two weeks. I say escaped as we were held captive by howling east winds which turned an intended two day stay into almost two weeks. However, Key West was great and we explored.

It's blowin' in Key West!

After spending Friday at a lovely anchorage in Newfound Harbor off Big Pine Key, we headed out on Saturday morning for Key West. It was a beautiful day and after only about three hours, we arrived at the harbor entrance and tied up to a dock at a marina in Key West. What a busy place! It is easy to see [...]

The middle Keys

Well ! Our goal has been to slow it all down and hang out here and there and not freeze. Happening! A few days ago we anchored at Shell Key early in the afternoon and again set about the arduous tasks of napping then fishing. Julie reeled in a delightful small fish and when she raised it out of the water [...]

Cruising in the Keys

We left Ft Lauderdale on Monday morning early so we could make the 7am opening of the bridge next to the marina and headed out the Port Everglades inlet to the outside as we made our way down to the Keys. It was a sunny day and the sea was fairly calm. As we were passing Miami, we were suddenly joined [...]

Merry Christmas!

23 December 2011 | St Augustine
Mr K
We have reached the promised land indeed. We have not used the heater for the last two days and were able to eat outside in the cockpit of the boat. Pure Joy. We are in Saint Augustine which is a must see by boat, car, plane, rickshaw, skateboard, or on foot. Full of history, Saint Augustine got going around the mid 1500's. Building codes restrict buildings to 36 feet. Pirates give walking ghost tours at night. Horse drawn carriages convey the young and old around town. We have plans to visit the chocolate factory, winery (both with free samples) and the wax museum. Christmas is in two days so it off to do Christmas shopping today for me (don't want to wait till the last minute). Julie's Son, Patrick, arrived two days ago and we are all having a great time of it at a mooring ball at the city marina about 300 feet from down town with all the lights and happy people. The boat is working well and the solar panels and wind generator are now earning their keep.

Here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday! Marc
