Poole Regatta

Poole Regatta

Our sea safaris have a fantastic treat during the second May Bank Holiday. Poole Regatta is taking place from the 28th to the 30th of May! This huge sailing regatta only takes place every other year and the water along our sea safari route will be teaming with yachts and dinghies of all different classes.

Events like this one take place every year in Cowes and are famous for the excitement and colour they bring. Poole Quay will be teaming with yacht crews from all over the world all enjoying their down time in the local bars and restaurants.

Tall Ships Youth Trust

The Tall Ships Youth trust are once again the chosen charity that the event sponsors will be supporting. They are great at developing character and skills in young people.

The Tall Ships Youth Trust aim to help young people to realise their true potential through the crewing of their varied fleet of sailing vessels. They take over 3,000 people sailing every year and on average 70% of the young people sailing with the TSYT are disadvantaged or disabled.

Sea Safari

Our sea safari trips are a 22 mile round trip along the Jurassic Coast. We take in a number of sights along this World Heritage site including a fresh water spring, caves and castles.

During the Poole Regatta the Puffins will be gathered in one of the areas we go to see. This is the furthest East that they visit along the UK’s coastline.

With that and the spectacle of all the boats there’s no better time to book on!

Working 9-5

Quiet Days

When we're working 9 to 5 at Get Lost Sailing, people often ask us what we do on a cold day and there aren't any customers around. It can be really hard going at times. You see, the problem is that we have a box that we keep for customers that's full of fun. If nobody turns up on the day for whatever reason that fun has to be used up. Otherwise the box would burst and there would be unconstrained fun all over the place.

Helpful Crew

Fortunately, at Get Lost Sailing, we have an experienced crew who are able to use up the fun before there are any major incidents. They are quite capable of working 9 to 5 and disposing of the excess fun before the Poole Harbour Commissioners decide there's been a breach of Health and Safety!

Video Proof - Working 9 to 5

The video clearly shows how diligent the crew are at carrying out this important fun dispersing task when called upon. They do their best to spread it around the harbour and pass it on to other water users with the use of a smile and a friendly wave! This usually results in getting a wave back and the fun being harmlessly discharged into the environment.

How You Can Help

As I'm sure you can imagine, all this extra work on top of the busy days running our popular trips can really take it's toll on the crew. Particular side effects include excessive tanning of the face from prolonged exposure to the sun (even when it's cold) and development of Repetitive Smile Injury (RSI). If you get the time and would like to make a donation then please.......

For those of you that don’t know, the Macmillan Round Britain Endeavour is a monumental undertaking by 20 year old Chris Pell. We are supporting Chris by giving you huge discounts off our trips!

Macmillan supported Chris’s family over the last few years, caring for his grandfather and grandmother when they had cancer. Chris is a power boat instructor and has set himself a challenge to attempt to raise a whopping £10,000 for the charity this summer and he needs our help. Find out how you can help us support him below………

Macmillan Round Britain Endeavour

The Challenge

This incredible challenge will see Chris circumnavigate the entire British Isles completing the final leg just in time to have a stand at the prestigious Southampton boat show! Once he arrives he aims to have raised in excess of £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This challenge can’t be underestimated. Chris only has a 12ft boat with an outboard engine. Hardly a sea going vessel! The trip will consist of 12,000 gruelling miles hugging Britain’s coastline and will take an estimated 21 days to achieve.

The Charity

Most of us know of somebody who has been affected by cancer. With Macmillan, right from the moment you’re diagnosed, through your treatment and beyond, you have a source of support, giving you the energy and inspiration to help you feel more like yourself.

Macmillan are millions of people affected by cancer, supporters, professionals, volunteers, and campaigners. Together we are all Macmillan.

20% Off Our Trips!

During the Poole Boat Show on 20th – 22nd of May, Chris will be passing by on his first 100 mile leg. Southampton to Dartmouth. By clicking through to the review you will find out the information about the three main types of boat trip that happen within Poole Harbour. The Poole Harbour boat trips include ferries that take you on harbour cruises, to Brownsea Island and out to Old Harry Rocks.

Then there are the motor cruisers that you can charter for a more personal service. These guys, like us, will take groups of up to 12 people at a time on a more bespoke tour according to your requirements.

Finally, there’s us and what we do. We’ll compare our service fairly against the others as all three of the Poole Harbour boat trips are very different and won’t suit everybody. Everybody wants something different.

You’ll be able to choose the right trip for you and your group. We’ll give you the information you need to plan your day. Including prices, where to get the different boats from, who it’s suitable for and what you can expect from the day and your hosts.

Later in the video series we’ll be giving you tips on where to eat, where to stay, other things to do in the area and information on some of the tourist theme days that go on during the summer. I’m sure you’ll find a lot of value by signing up sop go ahead and click on the link so we can help you to plan your day properly.

Until we see you on the water, have fun and Get Lost!
