It's Official

It's a sad but good thing, we no longer own GHOST. She is now owned by an architect in Sydney who has plans of sailing the South Pacific once again.

Reality bites!!

It's been a while since we updated the blog. Apologies for that but we've been busy fighting off the onslaught of reality, not really wanting to admit it's over! After arriving it was the welcome party in Sydney, followed by a hectic week of moving ALL our personal stuff off GHOST. On a side note, it [...]

GHOST for sale!

Well it's sad news but GHOST is now officially up for sale!

Welcome to Sydney GHOST

Well it was a brilliantly sunny day as we set off from Pittwater in GHOST, entering the Sydney heads about lunchtime. It was a pretty emotional sail through this iconic harbour which Brad has envisaged sailing into as long as he's dreamt of sailing home to Australia. Soon we were pulling up to the [...]

Welcome to Chris

Kat
Well it's been a busy few days out here in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua. Since my parents left Brad has been cracking on with his lengthy to do list with the assistance of Chris, who now has his own to do list consisting of:

1) Write all the jobs on the list (he has an objection to doing jobs that are not on the list)
2) Tidy room (still waiting on that one)

So as well as ticking stuff off the list, cleaning the ash off the boat from the usual SW winds blowing the ash from Monserrat (it turned out my parents flight was delayed by 24 hours because of it!) and rolling around in the anchorage due to the Southerly winds, we've also managed to fit in several dives (all around the boat) and also a few gin and tonics.... check out the photo!

Tomorrow we are due to be lifted out of the water to hopefully complete the work on the portlights (difficult if we don't complete it as under the antiquated Antiguan law we are not allowed to stay on the when it's out of the water...), install a new intake for the watermaker which should improve its efficiency and check out the worn patch in the keel from our recent tussle with the lobster pot. Another busy day awaits but meanwhile we are spending a romantic valentines day a trois checking emails in the Mad Mongoose bar....
