It's Official

It's a sad but good thing, we no longer own GHOST. She is now owned by an architect in Sydney who has plans of sailing the South Pacific once again.

Reality bites!!

It's been a while since we updated the blog. Apologies for that but we've been busy fighting off the onslaught of reality, not really wanting to admit it's over! After arriving it was the welcome party in Sydney, followed by a hectic week of moving ALL our personal stuff off GHOST. On a side note, it [...]

GHOST for sale!

Well it's sad news but GHOST is now officially up for sale!

Welcome to Sydney GHOST

Well it was a brilliantly sunny day as we set off from Pittwater in GHOST, entering the Sydney heads about lunchtime. It was a pretty emotional sail through this iconic harbour which Brad has envisaged sailing into as long as he's dreamt of sailing home to Australia. Soon we were pulling up to the [...]

Hang'in around near Marmaris

23 July 2008
Brad
Well since Steve left we've been hang'in out at Pupa Yacht, a small marina (if you can call it that as it only has room for about a dozen boats on one pontoon out front of a small family run resort) just outside Marmaris. The great thing about this place is that you get the convenience and security of a marina but can simply jump off the back of your boat and swim in clear water. There's a small beach, just over there and they have a reasonable little restaurant that we've frequented a couple of occasions.

We head over to the "real" marina on the other side of the bay in the dinghy only when the beer and wine stocks are low! I think we are in real danger of never leaving! But the real reason we are here is we have had the forestay taken down for a look over and that should go back up tomorrow. Then we'll grab a car and drive north for a look see up at Gallipoli and Troy and then be back for Tuesday next week to get ready to head back to Rhodes to pick up Celina (Kat's sister) and then head north up the Turkish coast.

Not much more to report, except that I have been trying to load a video clip up here from Steve's visit but do you think I can? Alas off to bed now but will make it happen tomorrow!

Later, B&K
