It's Official

It's a sad but good thing, we no longer own GHOST. She is now owned by an architect in Sydney who has plans of sailing the South Pacific once again.

Reality bites!!

It's been a while since we updated the blog. Apologies for that but we've been busy fighting off the onslaught of reality, not really wanting to admit it's over! After arriving it was the welcome party in Sydney, followed by a hectic week of moving ALL our personal stuff off GHOST. On a side note, it [...]

GHOST for sale!

Well it's sad news but GHOST is now officially up for sale!

28 November 2010 | Sydney Harbour, Australia

Welcome to Sydney GHOST

Well it was a brilliantly sunny day as we set off from Pittwater in GHOST, entering the Sydney heads about lunchtime. It was a pretty emotional sail through this iconic harbour which Brad has envisaged sailing into as long as he's dreamt of sailing home to Australia. Soon we were pulling up to the [...]

What the hell is this?!?

21 May 2009 | Marmaris
Brad
We're still "slaving" away to make Ghost just right before we set off. We've decided to hang here in Marmaris just a little longer as we have no commitments yet. Heath was going to come out to see us for a long weekend but something came up so we now plan to leave here on Sunday most likely.

It makes sense to delay as the weather has turned foul and it begs the question, what the hell is this rain stuff, we don't do rain! We had a fantastic thunder storm this afternoon with strong grumbling thunder for an hour or so, lightening and some torrential rain.

The canvas people delivered some fantastic new sun shades that they did a brilliant job on, we'll take some pictures when this weather allows. The electronic guys have finally done all that we asked of them and we now have a much higher battery capacity, so all we are waiting on now is the stainless steel man that is fabricating some mounts for our solar panels amongst other things. We have truly turned into 100% cruisers!!

Kat had a great time at the local market today. She caught the courtesy boat over from the marina this morning at 8:15 with some of the other ladies and came back raving about it. Apparently very cheap, 'oh so fresh' with stories of enthusiastic market vendors. She did a big shop at the local 'tescoesq' supermarket (perhaps the best in the eastern med) and bummed a lift back with the deliver guy, so we are fully stocked once more.

I finished off more of my teak cleaning duties, played with the electrics and generally pottered about the boat.

This shows what it used to look like versus now.

Tomorrow, Friday, depending on the stainless guy we plan to take a break int he afternoon, head into town for dinner and a few beers!
