It's Official

It's a sad but good thing, we no longer own GHOST. She is now owned by an architect in Sydney who has plans of sailing the South Pacific once again.

Reality bites!!

It's been a while since we updated the blog. Apologies for that but we've been busy fighting off the onslaught of reality, not really wanting to admit it's over! After arriving it was the welcome party in Sydney, followed by a hectic week of moving ALL our personal stuff off GHOST. On a side note, it [...]

GHOST for sale!

Well it's sad news but GHOST is now officially up for sale!

Welcome to Sydney GHOST

Well it was a brilliantly sunny day as we set off from Pittwater in GHOST, entering the Sydney heads about lunchtime. It was a pretty emotional sail through this iconic harbour which Brad has envisaged sailing into as long as he's dreamt of sailing home to Australia. Soon we were pulling up to the [...]

On route to Croatia

Well we left Corfu, and Greece mid afternoon on the 24th as the weather forecasts pretty much had a mixed view of winds predominately from the north and rain till early next week, so we figured we'd just get on with it. Motored most of yesterday afternoon and night but on low revs accepting it'll take us two nights. The upside of this is with now perceived rush to be in by dark the next day we can sail more even if only make 4 knots. Had a couple of squalls over night with gusty winds and heavy rain, but they don't last long. The sea state is a little lumpy today so GHOST is slamming every now and again. We turned the engine off this morning with about 120miles to go so should be able to sail the rest of the way, but we'll know more in a minute when we get the latest weather forecasts! In any case it looks like we'll arrive in Cavtat, south of Dubrovnik in the early hours of the morning, so we'll likely drop the anchor and wait till morning to clear customs etc.
