Still dreaming
14 March 2013 | South Africa
In the beginning sailing around the world was all just a dream of an adventure on the seven seas, the experience of a life time. And now when the reality is taking the place of the dream I still struggle to believe it’s all real. My dad bought a beautiful sporty looking admiral 38 catamaran beginning of 2012. Now in 2013 we plan to set sail beginning of April all the way to Greece. The crew will be me, a school friend of mine, Heini , Ronnie Roos, and then the captain, my dad. Ronnie is a very experienced sailor, he has been a delivery skipper for many years, his experience will be much needed because the route we are taking is not the most simple or popular one, I’ll share later in detail why it’s not. We will start in Cape Town and then sail to St Helena Island, from there to Ascension Island, from Ascension to the Cape Verde islands then on to the Azores (group of islands) and from there to Gibraltar, and then our destination Greece. I really want to share this experience because I believe it’s going to be life changing, on the one side you are going to see and learn amazing things and on the other side It’s going to be a physically and mentally though trip, you are going to be ripped out of your comfort zone, certainly very character building. Doesn’t that sound fun, but seriously I’m very excited and I feel very positive. So please stay tuned and share this awesome journey with me.
