Great Lakes Marine Mobile Net/Great Lakes MM Net

This past week of the 16th October saw some real high winds on the Great Lakes. This was due to a super low pressure system that moved westward over the Lakes. The storm came early in the season, bringing reports of 50K winds and 25 ft waves on southern Lake Michigan.
Many boats in Chicago that were still in the water, were damaged or sunk right in Monroe Harbor on Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

Extra:	We use HF SSB, VHF, Echolink, IRLP and Iphone/Android Skype to communicate. In addition to our own stations, we use HF Internet Remote Bases (IRB's) and Echolink and IRLP nodes around the Great Lakes, as well as Winlink 2000 Pactor and Winmor Radio Message Servers (RMS's).
