GLMM Net PREAMBLE:
(Please follow this format loosely. Nothing is written in stone.)

CQ, CQ, CQ. This is the Great Lakes Marine Mobile Net.
Calling all current and summertime sailors, mariners and fishermen on the Great Lakes (3X)

The Great Lakes Marine Mobile Net, is an HF SSB and VHF amateur radio net for all mariners on the Great Lakes and connecting waterways.

Our current net times and frequencies are at 08:30 a.m. Eastern on or about 7.268 Mhz LSB plus or minus interference in the 40M band.
Also on a frequency of 146.760 MHz FM, PL 107.2 in the 2M band on the Chicagoland CFMC WA9ORC repeater.
We also monitor Echolink, IRLP and Skype for incoming calls.
The Echolink node # is node # 62478, and the IRLP node # is node # 9619, the Great Lakes Reflector.

The Great Lakes Marine Mobile Net was established to provide mariners on the Great Lakes and connecting waterways with an alternative means of casual communications back to land. Our objectives are to promote safe boating on the Great Lakes and connecting waterways, and to promote the use of amateur radio on board.

Net services may include weather information, marina information, position reporting, phone patches, email forwarding, medical services and emergency response.

NEWS ITEMS
(Marina's products, services etc.)

The GLMM Net is actively seeking dedicated Net Control Officers and Relay Stations.

Please email Bernie, KC9SGV at gmail dot com if you have an interest.

Also please see our Echolink and IRLP node maps on our website. These nodes might work well from your VHF Handheld Radio or VHF base station on board the boat. The VHF range is normally much further than cell phone range due to omni-directional Ham VHF antenna towers on the shoreline.

Non-Hams can contact us via Skype. Just download the Skype APP to your smart phone, and look for ........(Fill in your Skype name.)

WEATHER SUPPORT.

The Great Lakes Marine Mobile Net will provide limited weather forecast readouts from NOAA and Environment Canada to vessels under way.

For current weather forecasts, please get area specific weather on VHF radio frequencies 162.400 to 162.550 Mhz FM.

Or just check this net's web pages for links to NOAA's Weather Radio Streaming Audio and Text Forecasts, by Zone.

Are there any requested text weather readouts for the Great Lakes?

As a reminder, if any stations have need to contact the Coast Guard: Call them on SSB HF 2182 USB, VHF Channel 16 (156.8 Mhz FM), or just dial 911 from your cell phones. Bear in mind cell phone range is very much reduced on the Great Lakes.

WRAP UP

Any further General check ins on HF ?
Are there any other stations to be relayed to the Net Control? Relay stations call now please.
