0050 hrs my time, 2250 hrs EDT. Have been on 0000-0200 hrs watch for an hour. Winds persist at 25kts with gusts higher. Makes for a "swell" ride . Air temp is 57F and water is 54F.

Good time to show you a photo of our nav station. We have a great set of Garmin instruments of latest model. Touch screens in cockpit with multiple individual displays and duplicated down below. Radar is digital and most robust. AIS is send and receive (let's us see other boats, their names, size, speed, and direction, and vice versa)...this is a great item. Redundant VHF radios with DSC, and SSB. Auto pilot controls at station and mobile. We get true wind speed and apparent, and also have digital read out of barometer, sea and air temperature. Lastly, an Iridium phone mounted and using Ocens email, and a second Iridium phone unmounted. Two spot devices for allowing you to track our position and send SOS if necessary. One mounted EPIRB in main salon, and one in the 6 man offshore liferaft.

John got back in the competition tonight with his "Forgotten Chicken" recipe (courtesy of Mary). He gets all points allowed..did it all without aide.

Peter's wife sent us the disturbing news about Abby Sunderland. Let's all keep her in our thoughts. Along those lines, we all very much appreciate your good wishes and encouragement.

Stay tuned.
