Good morning. Winds are 12 kts S, speed is 7.3kts with mainsail and jib, and seas are calm. The day is overcase, and barometer is reading 30.28 and steady.
It is a quiet day for us. Winds have been light since last night, and we've motored for the last 12 hours or so. Back under sail at this point.
We are partly crippled with the loss of our radar last night. Gone, suddenly and for no apparent reason. All attempts to troubleshoot (see photo) have failed. Most of us have sailed a lot with no radar, so not the end of the world. However, a very foggy or rainy day as we enter Scotland could provide a bit of tension. If you've been boating for any lenght of time, you know these things are "just part of it" (my wife has heard that phrase MANY times, and she hates it). To expect anything else other than for things to fail at random and inconveniently is naieve. That's why, I try to explain to my wife, I need 3 of everything!!
Peter cheered us up this morning with a "sticky bun cake". Not healthy, but GOOOOOD. We've followed that with beer and fritos, so we're all making our gym plans for when we return.
A little light on my update today, but will beef the next one up after I recover from the "sticky bun".
Stay tuned.
