The picture is the rough fit of my template for the v-berth cabinet. I got a great deal on the teak doors and have always wanted to turn the v-berth shelf into a cabinet. Since the doors are solid, it was suggested I add some vents. I had an issue with using some black walnut in another part of the boat (thinking it was teak, don't ask), so this time I decided to use black walnut vents on purpose. I've used the template to cut the cabinet front out of 1/2" Baltic Birch, which I'm now covering with teak veneer. Hopefully I'll have a finished picture soon. (Continued...)

OK, the replacement 40w solar panel made it to Austin and I have spent two days installing it along with it's twin on my hard dodger (I'm still loving my DIY hard dodger). The wiring is turning out to be the expected pain in the arse. Also, looking at the existing wiring the PO installed with the 100w panel, I might just replace it as well. Put I did manage to get everything run (sort of) and hook the two 40w panels up to the charge controller! Thank goodness, everything works and doesn't look half bad... (Continued...)
