Carriacou.

15 November 2013
And Matt, my oldest son, arrived. After having a good night out in Miami, he was ready to come aboard. I had taken the boat around to Secret Harbor Marina, to do laundry, top up with water etc. We then returned to Hog Island where Matt became one of Rodgers Beach Bar's best customers! We also had many a bbq on the beach with friends.
A few days there, picking up anti fouling paint and a few other pieces, and we went over to Prickly Bay. Rolly as heck! Had a lovely dinner with Judy and Sherman on Fair Winds but the the next day we were off to St. George's. A couple of days there and then we headed up to Carriacou. Matt got a very nice barracuda coming into the anchorage. Once again I picked the wrong day to leave. We had wind on the nose all the way. So we motor sailed.

I hauled Golightly out at Carriacou Marine to do redo the anti fouling and do some other work. I reduced the size of the fridge, for hopefully less power consumption, moved the windlass back 6 inches, so that the chain falls further back in the locker, etc, etc.
We are now back in the water. I can highly recommend Carriacou Marine for haul out. They are all very helpful and the rates are not bad at all. I also had a local guy, Kennis, regas the fridge. Wow! What a difference! It now freezes and I'm slowly bringing the temperature up. It has become a lot more power efficient.
It's great being back on the water. Living on the boat, on the hard, has many challenges. It's all much more difficult. ie. washing dishes, cooking, going to the toilet and not being able to go for a swim when you feel like it. We are anchored in Tyrrel Bay, next to a friend from Cape Town, Terry, on Libertad.
We dived conch here in the anchorage and I will change oil and filters on the engine today.
It's nearly time to start heading north again. Time to visit the French islands.
