Greece!!
12 July 2006 | Cephalonia, Greece

We woke up at 6AM for our departure for Greece. However, we find when we been stationary for a few days, it somehow always takes us longer than we anticipate to prepare the boat, especially for a long passage. Two and a half hours of boat preparation later, we headed toward Greece. The winds were 15-20 knots, and from the Northwest, a perfect direction for us to sail to Greece.
We maintained good speed, about 8 knots. We anticipated this passage was to take about 48 hours, but with such good wind, we were able to make it in about 36 hours. The best part of all, was that our friends from England, the Pound family (Steve, Fiona, Morgan and Morwenna), were waiting for us at our incoming port of Argostoli, Cephalonia. Their trip had started the end of April from Sardinia. They had been cruising along patiently waiting for us with all our trials and tribulations of boat repair. At last we had caught up with each other. Our Greek chapter was now unfolding, starting in the Ionian islands.
