Final EMYR Party

It is hard to believe the EMYR has come to an end. It has been an absolute whirlwind of sailing, touring, and socializing. At he beginning of the EMYR, we were divided into six groups. We sailed each passage with this group of sailors, and checked in every four hours with our fearless leader, Miro. (Pictured here on the bottom far left.) He is from Czechoslovakia --Ryan and Wesley were so excited as he was the same nationality as their ski coach from Mammoth. He was one to cut to the chase. His famous words were, "No, blah, blah, blah." He just wanted to know the distance to our destination. For example, "Gone Native has 20 nautical miles to go." No more, no less. (Perhaps you had to be on watch to see the humor....)
Here is the "preparty" of our final EMYR evening. We danced until the wee hours of the night. Yet, there was a touch of sadness, as we all realized we would soon start to go our separate ways. We know that is the life of cruising sailors--great happenings and memories, then to move on and meet new people and explore unknown lands.
