Water Temp 78
... continued from yesterday.
The winds continue nicely. We just set the spinnaker (the winds have veered to NE) and are making good time once again. This is probably the most consistent sailing we've had so far this trip and the forecast looks hopeful that things might continue on through our arrival in St. Lucia.
Our fish sandwiches yesterday were indeed delicious. The crew just lounged about afterwards and ultimately decided that it was too full for a formal dinner later on that evening. The kids prepared something light but that pretty much wrapped things up for the evening for the rest of us. Also, we polished off the remainder of our meager supply of beer at the same sitting.
The ARC staff has been helpful to us in attempting to minimize problems with our outgoing flights. Two of us remain in the possible position of having to clear out through customs without actually having time to have cleared in in the first place (if we arrive late enough at night). They are attempting to sort this out ashore in advance of our arriving there (this appears not to be an unusual problem for the event).
We have solved the problem of Otto going to sleep on us periodically. It appears that the power supply to the boat was being interrupted by the kids rummaging after fresh eggs in the hold. And here we thought that things were shutting down secondary to electromagnetic pulses occasioned by a newly declared nuclear war. Such is life at sea. None of us has heard any non-trip-related news for three weeks (other than the fact that my other son's cat was temporarily lost last week). Have any good things
happened out there in the "real world".
Fair winds...
