In Turtle Bay! 1/2 way!
08 December 2008 | Turtle Bay
We're half way! And, we're having a blast!!! Officially anchored in Turtle Bay, half way down Baja. We've finally reached warmer weather & warming waters, and we're loving it.
The northern Baja has been cool, and almost wintery, so we skipped a few planned spots and made our way South. We found some considerable surf at Punta Colenett before heading to Isla San Martin where we scored major lobsters from the fishermen.
At Isla Cedros, we anchored in front of a sea lion colony and enjoyed their antics for 2 days. The pups would swim circles around the boat, and we'd explore their beaches & caves via kayak. At one point, a hundred curious sea lion pups charged the water to greet us & play as we Kayak'd past their pebbly home. We also combed the beaches for pretty shells and hiked up an arroyo into the heart of this desert island.
Its been 4 weeks since we set off, and we've been thoroughly enjoying the journey & the anchorages we've visited. As we reprovision here in Turtle Bay, we excitedly looking foreward to the adventures that lay ahead of us in route to Cabo San Lucas.
