Oahu
27 June 2011 | Waikiki Beach
We've spent the last 2 weeks here in the Ala Wai harbor, just adjacent to the big city of Waikiki, and Diamondhead in the background. And WOW, it is a big city, almost overwhelming. But fortunately, two great surf spots Ala Moana & Kaisers are in paddling distance from the boat. Kelita & Ray have been hitting the waves too, improving with every session. As usual, our days have been busy with either boat projects or enjoying activities around the island. But again, it is time to move on.
Tomorrow, we are headed to Kauai where we'll spend a few days before setting off in to the Pacific again, heading for California waters. July is the best month weather-wise to cross the Pacific, so we're sailing out with a number of boats, heading for the West coast. We expect it'll take 3-4 weeks to cross the ocean, and we'll make landfall in Morro Bay. So, will be our last Hawaii post. Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers.
