Noumea

21 September 2015 | 22 16.62'S:166 26.40'E, South Pacific
We made it into Noumea around lunchtime yesterday.

The last 24 hours of the trip was glorious . An unexpected 12 knot South easterly filled in, and we had a fantastic sail and could stop the motor( that had been on for 24 hours )

The crew were fantastic, each pulling their own in their watch. All up they have added 1000 nautical miles to their offshore CV's

Port Moselle Marina received us after some interesting poor French banter by me on channel 67 . The marina operator initially thought we were. 48 metre vessel , as opposed to 48 feet.

Bio security came on board at 4pm and took our carrot, popcorn, and honey, and we were free to move ashore.

Top priorities seem to be different depending on the family member. Coffee for the captain and a shower , shower for the girls , iced chocolate for the lad ( shower-not so much )

Today we completed the rest of immigration, and had a long walk to the popular beaches area ( also managed to scope out a few foil boarding options)

We have 12 days left until Sues and the kids fly home, and Sues is feverishly researching options; from farm stay , to aquarium visit, to mountain biking, to hotel stay, to museum visit.

First mate Saul is then on standby for our return voyage. We will aim for Coffs Harbour, and ease off up to Brisbane if the breeze has us going to windward.
