Heading South
13 December 2009 | Naples, FL
EVS: Sunny and warm
We commenced our trip from Pelican Bat, Cayo Costa, in Charlotte Harbor on December 9, 2009. We spent several days there, making sure systems worked, tidying up, making improvements, walking the trails, and enjoying a wonderful, unspoiled piece of Florida. This morning, we headed out intending to go to Ft. Myers, but the seas were calm, the wind was light (and in our teeth), and we were making good time, so we kept on going and arrived here in Naples at anchor by 4:15 PM. We are anchored in Port Royal, in the midst of multi-million-dollar homes, where people rearely visit. We think we are having more fun than they are (heck, they are not here!). The winds are light, the sun is setting, and we are preparing for dinner. Tomorrow, we head for Little Shark River and thence to Marathon in the Keys.
